Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is Hot Yoga?
Hot Yoga is a style of yoga practiced in a heated room, typically between 90-105°F. The heat helps increase flexibility, encourages detoxification through sweating, and provides an intense cardiovascular workout.
  • It's My First Class—What Should I Know?
Arrive at the studio at least 15 minutes before class to check in, get a quick tour, and settle in comfortably. Be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated, as hot yoga can be intense. Avoid eating heavy meals just before class; if needed, have a light snack an hour or two beforehand. Bring a yoga mat, a large towel to cover your mat, and a water bottle—or check with us at the front desk if you need to rent or purchase any of these. Most importantly, listen to your body during class, take breaks as needed, and know that you’re free to rest if you need it. We’re excited to have you with us for your first class!
  • I've never practiced yoga before. Is Hot Yoga suitable for beginners?
Yes! Many beginners enjoy starting with Hot Yoga because the heat makes muscles more pliable. However, it’s essential to listen to your body, pace yourself, and take breaks if needed.
  • What if I’m not flexible?
Flexibility is not a prerequisite for Hot Yoga! Regular practice will naturally improve flexibility. The heat actually helps muscles relax and stretch more easily, making it suitable for all fitness levels.
  • What should I eat and drink before class?
Hydrate well throughout the day, as Hot Yoga causes significant sweating. Avoid heavy meals 2-3 hours before class, and opt for light snacks like fruit or a smoothie about an hour before to avoid discomfort.
  • What should I wear to a Hot Yoga class?
Wear lightweight, moisture-wicking athletic clothes. Many people prefer shorts and fitted tops to stay cool and comfortable. Avoid heavy fabrics as they can trap heat and sweat.
  • Do I need to bring anything to class?
Yes, it’s recommended to bring a yoga mat, a large towel (for your mat), a smaller towel (for wiping sweat), and a water bottle to stay hydrated. If you don’t have your own mat or towel, check with the studio about rentals.
